Mossms eating in cryo? VS cost of boxes ect.

I'm not sure where Asymmetrical is gonna go with this now, bit to Progenitor I was gonna point out something...you mentioned that Robs 113 Mossms would only take 1 hour and 45 minutes to be able to buy the cryo box. That's does make a difference. Much better than 8 days. However, not everyone will have that many. Some may only have 40...20...10...maybe just 5. Right now I have alot more than I'll be able to have when I have to pay for their food. Sadly, I think I'll be limited to 10 at a time. So for me that's almost a whole days SLK. Which is fine. Guess I just wanted to put it out there for us little guys. LOL

Oh, and I don't like the idea of feeding them while they're waiting to be sold. Mostly because I'm poor. Or cheap. One of those. Here's the thing...if I have even a nice Mossm that can be sold but I don't think I can afford the extra food, then I either have to send it off to space or send away one I already have. I do understand what it is you're aiming for, and I agree with it. I'm just telling you the cncerns I have.

question - unboxed Mossms are transferable, can they be sold live? with out a box, 8 prims on a market stall isnt too bad, and to be honest I would sell from home, and maybe avoid the need for a box all together ?
I know that means the need to feed them, but if you were taking them to an auction etc, they wouldnt need much before they sold.

Elena, I think we may all be in agreement that if we keep cryo that it may be too expensive. So, at the very least the price will come down. For now, we're still trying to figure out what more people think though so we appreciate you taking the time to contribute to the discussion!

Pebbles, Yes, you could do that right now. The obvious downsides are that they will need to eat and they will continue to grow. Continuing to grow may not be entirely bad unless a fresh baby becomes an important shopping criteria.

After talking more about this both internally and with our users today we've decided to change how cryo will work. We believe, based on all of the feedback that these changes we're going to make will fall in line with the goals that Progenitor outlined in a previous post and will also alleviate many of your concerns as well.

Here is the change we plan to implement:

1) The cost of cryo will be reduced to 10 SLK per box. A very nominal fee for everyone and equal to 1 Mossm hour of work.
2) Mossms will only be able to be frozen 3 times. After we launch, you'll want to check the remaining freezes on Mossms that you purchase if you think you may want to eventually refreeze it.
3) A recently unfrozen Mossm will not be able to be refrozen for 24 hours or until fed whichever comes first.

Thanks to all of you that took the time to provide feedback in a variety of different ways... inworld group chat, voice calls, private IMs, and support tickets. We really appreciate your time, your enthusiasm and your support. We'll get the change done in the coming days and let you know as soon as its done.

What about a system like plantpets use.. you have to buy a boxing system that automatically shows the mossm and has hovertext with their stats, i would prefer to pay $L for a boxing system vs using hard earned slk

Keera, I think that sounds pretty similar to what Asymmetrical proposed in the post just above yours. Except for the paying-for-it part. ;)

I've included a picture of the cryo-pod below so you can see what I'm talking about.

The boxing system shows the mossm's coat in a little window, has hovertext with the name and breed of the mossm. The gender of the mossm is shown via the color of the box (the little lights change to either blue or pink), but for our esteemed color blind friends, the gender is also shown when the box is clicked. Clicking the box shows the name of the mossm, the breed, the gender, all of its stats, its oomf, and link to the website where you can see its picture, ancestry, and other information.

It'll be essentially free-- 10SLK, (as opposed to the 1900 SLK price we currently have it at) which is the equivalent of 0.25 Lindens if you think of it in terms of food costs.

Thumbs up to what I feel is an amicable solution for Big breeders, Hobbiest and every one in between.

I agree that baby mossms that are put in cryo should not age. I like the idea of two levels or costs of cryo. While they are in your inventory right now, without cryo they eat, right? Well what if one week you go absolutely broke and cant feed them and do not want them to starve? Picking them up solves nothing. Putting them in cryo solves nothing... so then we feel really guilty and must bum money off of all our friends to feed our Mossms.

Perhaps another way to solve this is to build in a meditation mode where they meditate more and eat less... but then they also contribute less (obviously) to producing resources. Say instead of eating 7 units a day they eat 2. That way any Mossm that is about to be put into cryo can enter a meditative state beforehand so that the drain on resources is not as high. Any Mossm that is in meditative state would eat less, produce less resources, and would not be able to mate for a week... or something.

Another way to take it is to create a device maybe that allows you to have them meditate, or medicate, or go on vacation, or go home to mamma. Something that keeps them out of the food bag for a bit. The device or house or ship can hold only 10 at a time and cannot be accessed again for two weeks or some restriction like that. No food eaten, no production, no mating. That's taking it waaay the other direction, but it might be a funny/cool way to display them.

I like this idea and solution! If this solution also offer a solution for all the problems you had before then i like it a lot!

Also plus we also going to get the option to sell live ones(what i did not knew yet)
So i think this way everybody is going to get what they want!

I also want to say thank you very much to the mossms team to listen so good at the community! this i never seen before! This is the first time i noticed on a breedable that the creators are standing so close to the community! Keep up the good work like this and this cant fail!

greetings

I'm very pleased to Asymmetricals post. This seems a very good solution for everybody. Since you cant breed Brothers and Sisters, if you wanna keep breeding your Mossms you need to trade once in a while to have fresh blood in your Breed.
The nominal fee of 10slk for a cryobox will be affordable for everybody and opens the Door for trading and reselling at the Market.
The maximum count of freezes will keep the price up for first time frozen Mossms and also reduce flooding the market with unwanted frozen Mossms.
Another Big part been the Breedables auctions, i would suggest to have an option to make a unfrozen Mossm not move, or maybe a kind of device or environment what not produces anything, not even slk , where they dont move. something like a mat or so , when rezzing a mossm on this device it cant move away till you take it. That makes it easier to sell a Mossm at a Auction.
Auctions been a good way to find out the Marketprice of a Breedable. For the Mossms i think also about Trading areas. Many cases possible to have a Mossm displayed and not wanting to move. ..... Maybe something to think about.

greetings Sandy
